Dr. inż. arch. Barbara Świt-Jankowska [Faculty of Architecture, PUT, Poznan]

 

 

Dr inż. arch. Barbara Świt-Jankowska's research combines issues related to heritage protection, architectural education (education spaces) and modern technologies (AI). She is the author of 2 monographs, 22 articles and 27 chapters in monographs in the fields of: architectural theory, heritage protection and the history of 19th and 20th century architecture, and spatial education in a broad sense. Among others, she cooperates with the National Museum in Poznań, where she is involved in projects related to modern methods of heritage inventory. As the supervisor of more than one hundred engineering, bachelor's and master's theses and two doctoral theses (assistant supervisor), she can boast of the successes of her charges, including first place and honorable mention in the international Young Architects Competitions - Wedding Oasis in 2017 and honorable mention in the Kids Factory competition in 2018. 

The scientific achievements of dr inż. arch. Barbara Swit-Jankowska highlights the importance of spatial education of the public, especially in the context of upcoming climate change and the need to incorporate sustainable design principles.

For many years, Barbara Świt-Jankowska has been working with the Projektor-nia.pl studio, where she combines her academic experience with practical design activities, realising architectural and interior design projects, including the interiors of educational facilities. 

Dr inż. arch. Barbara Świt-Jankowska is a co-founder of the research group EDIT - Ecological District of Innovation and Technology, which aims to promote pro-ecological initiatives and education in sustainable spatial policy. She has been working with the international organisation Global Urban Development since 2022 and has been a Board Member since 2023. At GUD she promotes educational activities aimed at students and local communities. She is actively involved in the European Association for Architectural Education and organises workshops and initiatives to promote sustainability and architectural education to a wide audience. Among others, she cooperates with the Association for People with Disabilities ‘Open Doors’ or the ‘One University’ foundation.

She was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission.
